Setting Supportive and Reasonable Fences with Your Teenager
Setting fences becomes both challenging and more manageable when your child enters the teen years! Your teenager is now more self-motivated and interested in tasks without needing much encouragement. They also have a stronger sense of ownership and involvement in decision-making. However, they may sometimes refuse to comply with rules they consider unfair or unreasonable. Your teenager may even use their new reasoning skills to argue against boundaries, making it difficult to convince them otherwise.
Drawing on my two decades of experience working with teenagers and their caregivers, I've developed this guide to support you in setting Supportive and Reasonable fences with your teenager.
Setting up fences is an act of love and support.
